How Much Does Junk Removal Cost in Mt. Juliet, TN? (2026 Guide)

Junk removal cost in Mt. Juliet has no survey figure of its own; nationally, Angi (updated Sep 30, 2026) puts most jobs at $133 to $372, with an average of $241. HomeGuide's national price list, dated May 24, 2024, gives most homeowners $150 to $350. The junk removal pages of HomeGuide, Angi, HomeAdvisor, Fixr and Forbes Home publish national numbers, and none of them prints a junk removal price for Mt. Juliet, Wilson County, Nashville or any other Tennessee place. The local prices that are published are the County's disposal fees. Wilson County's landfill charges $18 per cubic yard for construction and demolition waste and $100 per ton for shingles, at rates effective November 1, 2022. Each national row in the table below names its survey and date, the two County fees are marked as County fees, and our Wilson County landfill and convenience center figures show the hours, per-visit limits and load arithmetic behind them.

What Changes the Price?

Truck space the load fills: Volume sets most quotes. This Old House (updated 03/13/2026) says most companies price by how much truck space your items take, and Angi (updated Sep 30, 2026) ranks volume as the second most important cost factor. Angi's full truck holds 13 to 17 cubic yards, and Fixr notes that an item smaller than the minimum load still pays the minimum truckload fee.

What the load weighs: Heavy material raises the fee. HomeGuide's construction debris page (January 27, 2025) says fees are higher for concrete, gravel or dirt, and EPA's Volume-to-Weight Conversion Factors (April 2016) show why: large concrete with rebar is listed at 860 pounds per cubic yard and composition roofing at 731, against 250 to 300 pounds for uncompacted mixed trash. Wilson County charges shingles by the ton, so weight sets that fee directly.

Stairs, carries and tight access: Labor is the largest share of a junk removal bill, Angi says, and stairs, tight hallways and upper floors add to it. Angi (updated Sep 30, 2026) puts national labor costs for junk removal at $100 to $300 in most cases. The stair surcharges the national surveys print are tied to particular jobs, such as $40 to $100 per staircase on Angi's estate cleanout page (updated Jul 10, 2026) and $100 to $130 for a hot tub on HomeGuide's hot tub page (November 2, 2023).

Disposal fees at the receiving site: Forbes Home (modified August 20, 2025) counts local disposal fees among the most significant cost factors, and Fixr says junk removal prices usually include landfill fees. Around Mt. Juliet those fees are public: Wilson County's landfill charges $18 per cubic yard for construction and demolition waste, $100 per ton for shingles and $5 per cubic yard for residential yard waste it labels small, effective November 1, 2022.

Items with rules of their own: Some items carry their own disposal cost. Nationally, HomeGuide (May 24, 2024) lists landfill surcharges of $35 to $60 each for refrigerators, freezers and AC units, and HomeAdvisor (updated Jun 19, 2026) puts refrigerant removal and disposal at $50 to $150. TDEC says whole tires may not be landfilled in Tennessee, and Wilson County's convenience centers refuse paint. Before the job we name the items we do not take and where each can lawfully go.

Where you live and when you book: Angi (updated Sep 30, 2026) says prices can run 10% to 20% above or below the national average depending on where you live; it does not say where Mt. Juliet falls, and no survey does. Forbes Home (modified August 20, 2025) names March through November as the busy period and says demand tends to drop by 50% in January and February. Angi adds that a rush job may cost somewhat more, without giving a figure.

To price your load, send us photos or a list, or ask us to look at it in person. We quote before we lift anything, the quote is free, and the price is agreed before work starts. We tell you up front which items we do not take, such as paint, chemicals, used oil, propane tanks and batteries, and where each can lawfully go. Every load is tarped before it leaves your property and goes only to a site permitted to take it, and we sweep the floor or driveway where it sat. For a full garage, our garage cleanout page sorts what goes to a center, the landfill or a recycler.

What the national surveys print, and why none prices Mt. Juliet

Every dollar range on this page is a national figure from a named survey, and each survey shows its own date. Angi's junk removal page was updated Sep 30, 2026; HomeAdvisor's shows Jun 19, 2026 under a title that still says 2025 data; Fixr's shows January 31, 2025; Forbes Home's was modified August 20, 2025. HomeGuide's price list puts 2026 in its title but displays only May 24, 2024. This Old House says its figures are based on Angi's averages, so it is not a separate survey. None of these pages prints a junk removal, dumpster or cleanout price for Mt. Juliet, Wilson County or Nashville, and Angi's city tables name cities in other states only. Read each range as a national band, and check its date before you compare two of them.

Truck fractions only compare within one survey, because each assumes a different truck. Angi, HomeAdvisor and This Old House size a full load at 13 to 17 cubic yards. HomeGuide counts in cubic feet, with a full-size truck carrying at most 450 cubic feet, and says one full load equals around four pickup truckloads. Forbes Home calls a full truckload 3.5 cubic yards and a quarter load about one cubic yard. A cubic yard is 27 cubic feet under NIST Handbook 44, so convert before you set one survey's half load against another's. To picture the volumes, our page on dumpster rental in Mt. Juliet shows what 10 to 40 yard containers hold.

Doing it yourself in Wilson County: centers, landfill, rented truck

For a resident with a small load, the first stop is a convenience center, one of the County's seven staffed drop-off sites. Wilson County's page limits them to residents with a Wilson County vehicle tag and one visit per day, and each visit allows 10 bags of household garbage plus one item group: two pieces of furniture, two appliances, one 8x10 carpet or rug, five pieces of lumber, 20 shingles, two boxes of miscellaneous items or five pieces of metal or tin. The centers turn away commercial loads, partial loads, box trucks, rental moving trucks and enclosed trailers, and refuse tires, paint, hazardous waste, yard waste and fireworks. The current page prints no fee; the County's July 2018 newsletter said drop-off was free of charge for residents. Our Mt. Juliet disposal guide gives the routes for paint, tires and hazardous waste.

Construction debris, shingles and yard waste go to the Wilson County landfill at 378 Dump Road in Lebanon, open Monday to Friday, 7 am to 3 pm. Loads must be checked in at the scale house 30 minutes before closing, so 2:30 pm is the last check-in; every load must be tarped, and payment is cash or local check only. By our arithmetic at the County's $18 per cubic yard for construction and demolition waste (effective November 1, 2022), 10 cubic yards comes to $180, a level-full 8-ft. box on a 2026 Ford F-150 (2.87 cubic yards) to $51.60 and a small dump trailer holding 2.78 cubic yards to $50.00; residential yard waste at $5 per cubic yard is $12.50 for a 2.5 cubic yard pickup load. Nationally, HomeGuide (November 5, 2025) puts a rented pickup at $20 to $120 a day, and Angi (updated Jul 10, 2026) lists its smallest dump trailer at $200 to $300 a day.

How to read a quote: sales tax, dumpsters and what the price covers

Tennessee taxes a service only when the law names it. The Department of Revenue's guidance SUT-116 (updated March 27, 2025) says the sale of services is not taxed unless specifically taxable by law, and the list of taxable services in SUT-115 does not name waste removal, junk removal or hauling. For containers, Notice 19-07 and SUT-118 say a dumpster that a waste removal provider delivers and picks up as part of its service is not a taxable lease, a change made by Public Chapter 483 (2019) effective July 1, 2019; a dumpster rented apart from a removal service is still taxed. Where a sale is taxable in Mt. Juliet, the combined rate is 9.75% by our arithmetic: the State's 7% plus the 2.75% local rate the Department lists for the City and Wilson County since May 1, 2020.

A written quote should state its scope. This Old House (updated 03/13/2026) says labor and disposal are usually built into a junk removal quote rather than listed separately, and Fixr says junk removal prices normally include pickup, labor and disposal fees. So ask what the price covers, which items are left out and whether any line carries Tennessee sales tax. Our written quote says what the price covers and whether any line carries that tax, and before the job we tell you which items we do not take and where each can lawfully go. For remodel loads, compare a quote with what Wilson County charges by the yard and the ton on our construction debris removal page.

Junk Removal Pricing Questions

How much does junk removal cost in my area?

In Mt. Juliet there is no published local figure, so the national surveys are the guide: Angi (updated Sep 30, 2026) puts most jobs at $133 to $372 and HomeGuide (May 24, 2024) at $150 to $350. None of the survey pages we cite prints a junk removal price for Mt. Juliet, Wilson County, Nashville or anywhere in Tennessee, and Angi says local prices can run 10% to 20% either side of the national average without saying which way Mt. Juliet falls. The local cost you can pin down is disposal: Wilson County's landfill charges $18 per cubic yard for construction and demolition waste, effective November 1, 2022.

How do you price out junk removal?

We price a job from what we can see: you send photos or a list, or we look at the load, and we give one price before we lift anything. The national surveys name what moves a price: how much truck space the load fills, what it weighs, stairs and tight access, and what the receiving site charges, such as Wilson County's $18 per cubic yard for construction debris or $100 per ton for shingles, effective November 1, 2022. The price is agreed before work starts, and the written quote says what it covers and whether any line carries Tennessee sales tax.

What is the minimum charge for junk removal?

Angi (updated Sep 30, 2026) puts the national minimum charge, or minimum price, at $60 to $150 for a single bulky item. Nationally, HomeGuide's smallest load, up to 60 cubic feet, runs $70 to $100 (May 24, 2024); Fixr's minimum load of about 60 cubic feet costs $75 to $125 (January 31, 2025). Angi adds that pros may bill a minimum of 2 cubic yards, roughly one-eighth to one-quarter of a truckload, even when the haul is smaller. None of these survey pages prints a minimum charge for Mt. Juliet or anywhere in Tennessee.

What's included in a $99 junk removal service?

No survey we cite prints that price, so the useful answer is what the surveys say a minimum load includes. HomeGuide's national minimum load is up to 60 cubic feet for $70 to $100 (May 24, 2024). Fixr's national minimum load is about 60 cubic feet for $75 to $125 (January 31, 2025), and Fixr says junk removal prices include pickup, labor and disposal fees. Angi (updated Sep 30, 2026) says a minimum may be 2 cubic yards, roughly one-eighth to one-quarter of a truck. Before you book any flat-price offer, ask what volume it covers, whether stairs or heavy items cost extra and whether dump fees are inside the price.

What is a landfill fee?

A landfill fee, or tipping fee, is the charge a landfill sets to accept a load, by volume, weight or item. Wilson County's landfill prints three, effective November 1, 2022: $18 per cubic yard for construction and demolition waste, $100 per ton for shingles and $5 per cubic yard for residential yard waste it labels small, payable in cash or local check. Several national surveys quote landfill fees by the ton, for example $20 to $50 per ton on HomeAdvisor's dumpster page (updated Jun 17, 2026). Our Wilson County landfill page works these rates through for common loads.

Are junk removal services worth it?

They are when the load is larger than one convenience center visit allows or more than your vehicle can carry. A Wilson County resident with a County vehicle tag can bring 10 bags of household garbage plus one item group per visit, one visit a day, and the current County page prints no fee. Past that, the landfill charges by the yard or the ton, ends check-in at 2:30 pm on weekdays and turns away untarped loads, and HomeGuide (November 5, 2025) puts a rented pickup at $20 to $120 a day nationally. Against Angi's national $133 to $372 for most jobs (updated Sep 30, 2026), the trade is your time and labor.
